High-tenacity virgin polypropylene (PPMF) and polyamide braided fall arrest net panels designed for pre-engineered buildings (PEB), structural steel erection, bridge girder construction, and high-bay industrial roofing.
What is a Single-Layer Personnel Fall Arrest Safety Net? A Single-Layer Fall Arrest Safety Net (IS 11057:1984 & EN 1263-1 System S) is a certified collective safety assembly constructed from 100mm or 60mm high-tenacity braided virgin polypropylene (PPMF) or polyamide cordage (Ø 4.0mmโ6.0mm) bound by a certified Ø 12mm 30.0 kN perimeter border rope. It is engineered to catch a 100 kg falling person from up to 6.0 meters with zero structural failure, limiting deceleration forces below 6.0 kN.
High-tenacity polypropylene multifilament (PPMF) 4mm braided cordage with 3.2 kN single-mesh breaking tenacity.
Under-slab structural perimeter anchoring using 12mm IS 5175 boundary rope and drop-forged shackles.
Pre-Engineered Buildings (PEB), industrial warehouse roofing, high-bay structural steel frameworks, and bridge girder installations require robust, lightweight, and high-energy-absorbing personnel safety net systems. The GCM Single-Layer Fall Arrest Net is engineered specifically for collective fall arrest under IS 11057:1984 and EN 1263-1 (System S, Class A2/B2).
The net is constructed using a high-density braided twine core with a continuous 16-spindle or 24-spindle circular outer jacket. This braided geometry delivers zero rotational torque under tension, prevents outer strand unravelling if snagged on structural steel burs, and exhibits superior dynamic shock absorption compared to twisted twisted twines.
To prevent dangerous bottoming-out during fall arrest, Single-Layer nets must be rigged with appropriate initial tension and certified anchor spacing:
Under EN 1263-2 and IS 11057, the maximum permissible free-fall working height above the net plane is 6.0 meters. However, rigging as close to the working level as possible (within 2.0 to 3.0 meters) is recommended to minimize dynamic bodily impact.
Under the Ministry of Textiles Quality Control Order (QCO) 2024, all mixed polyolefin border ropes must carry the mandatory BIS ISI mark. Non-certified cordage is legally prohibited on Indian construction and industrial sites.
Visual inspections must be carried out weekly by a competent EHS officer, immediately following high-wind storms, and instantly after any fall incident. Removable test meshes must undergo destructive tensile testing annually.
